Dunwoody Nature Center Replaces Monarchs & Margaritas Event With Online Fundraiser Amidst COVID-19 Restrictions
Dunwoody, Ga. -- In response to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, Dunwoody Nature Center made the difficult decision to cancel their beloved annual fundraiser, Monarchs & Margaritas.
Many factors influenced this decision. Foremost among them was the safety of the community. After considering multiple options including virtual or live stream events, the Nature Center decided there was too much uncertainty and financial risk to plan a top-notch event.
Monarchs & Margaritas generates over $60,000 for programming and operations. While the event won't occur this year, the need for funds to deliver high-quality environmental education programs and to preserve and protect the 22 acres of the Nature Center is greater than ever.
Through the renewed generosity of the event sponsor, CRH, Patrons and Hosts, the Dunwoody Nature Center has already collected $30,000 towards the $60,000 goal. However, they need help from the community to meet the $60,000 goal and ask that you consider donating.
“Cancelling Monarchs & Margaritas was not an easy decision to make,” said Jany Brown, Board President of Dunwoody Nature Center. “We rely on these funds to keep the Nature Center running. We hope the community comes together to support us so we can continue to provide a link to nature now and in the future.”
To help close the gap, several anonymous donors have established a challenge grant that will double the first $10,000 received from the fundraiser. Join the challenge and donate to the Dunwoody Nature Center today.
