MJCCA Encourages the Community to Get Heart-Healthy This February With Several Special Events

ATLANTA – January 18, 2019) – February is American Heart Month: a time to focus on your cardiovascular health. The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta (MJCCA) is encouraging the community to get heart-healthy with several special events at its Zaban Park campus (5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody). Why Get Heart-Healthy?
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. Every year, 1 in 4 deaths are caused by heart disease. However, heart disease can often be prevented when people make healthy choices and manage their health conditions. The MJCCA is dedicated to empowering the community to make heart-healthy choices.
MJCCA’s Heart-Healthy Programs Include:

This week-long social media fitness challenge is FREE and open to the community; participants can join a team, complete fitness and wellness challenges, earn points, and win prizes!
  This fitness dance party is FREE and open to the community; dance your heart out for one or both hours as we get our blood pumping and our bodies moving! Ages 13+ welcome.
  Cost for this informational session - Member Free; Community $5; learn how to support your cardiovascular system through smart dietary and lifestyle choices as we talk to a registered dietician from Northside Hospital.
  This community-based charitable event is FREE and open to the community; donate blood to your local community in the LifeSouth BloodMobile. Help us save lives on this Valentine’s Day!
