The Dunwoody Perimeter Chamber believes there is value in maintaining architectural standards in the Dunwoody Village Overlay District. The Chamber also believes changes to the existing standards can be made without removing all existing requirements that distinguish the area and make it a sought-after business district with a 95% occupancy rate.
The Chamber believes that current requirements concerning the number of parking spaces per square foot are a deterrent to attracting new restaurants and restrict green space.
At this time, the Chamber encourages the City of Dunwoody to continue and increase its investment in the overlay district to protect existing trees, improve landscaping, and provide more walkable areas, outdoor seating and green space that encourage residents to congregate, dine and shop locally.
The Chamber looks forward to continued engagement from affected and prospected businesses as well as collaboration with the City of Dunwoody as the conversation continues.
