ACCOUNTING/REGISTRATION SPECIALIST

Job Description
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • B.B.A Degree, Accounting Major, preferred
  • 3-5 years professional business accounting experience
  • Knowledge of non-profit business practices and financial statements, preferred
  • Experience in processing payroll, accounts payable, receivables, and general ledger
  • Experience in generating and analyzing financial statements and budgets which follow GAAP
  • Expertise in software programs, including Sage Peachtree Accounting and Excel
  • Confidentiality

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Ability to deal with students, instructors and the general public with tact, courtesy and warmth

DUTIES
  • Process and maintain accounts payable, general ledger and financial statements
  • Prepare reports of Spruill’s financial activity, i.e., operations, gallery, coffee studio and fundraising
  • Monitor and analyze accrual accounts
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and budget comparison
  • Review monthly financial statements and budget variances with Administration Director and CEO
  • Prepare 1099 tax forms
  • Prepare quarterly sales tax reports
  • Assist Administration Director in coordinating annual budget preparation and entering into Sage Peachtree Accounting
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Oversee accounting computer software to ensure accurate flow of financial information
  • Assist in registration
    • Answer incoming calls and check general mailbox for messages
    • Assist walk-in registrants
    • Process registration forms, payments and refunds
    • Notify students of cancelled classes and suggest alternatives
  • Process daily registration income?
    • Enter daily income figures into Sage Peachtree Accounting general journal
    • Prepare monthly daily financial income binder
  • Assist in other Spruill Center areas/functions as needed
 
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Exceptions:
One day per week 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
One Saturday morning per month 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
